Das KABUFF in der Bildhauerhalle des E-WERK Freiburg ist ein Gastatelier und ein experimenteller Ausstellungsort für erweiterte künstlerische Produktions- und Präsentationsformen. Seit 2017 werden junge Kunstschaffende im Rahmen einer ein- bis dreimonatigen Residenz eingeladen, neue Arbeiten zu konzipieren, umzusetzen und in performativen oder diskursiven Formaten einem Publikum vorzustellen. Der Aufenthalt bietet zudem Gelegenheit zum Austausch mit anderen Kunstschaffenden in Freiburg.

Für 2027 sucht das KABUFF erneut nach Vorhaben, die künstlerische Produktion über die Fertigung von Objekten hinaus denken und das Atelier als Produktions- und Ausstellungsort neu befragen. Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler:innen aller Praxisformen. Auch Praktiken mit erweitertem Bezug zu Text, Sprache, Typographie, Theater, Szenographie, Musik oder Film sind eingeschlossen.

KABUFF in the Sculpture Hall of E-WERK Freiburg is a residency studio and experimental exhibition space for expanded forms of artistic production and presentation. Since 2017, emerging artists have been invited to develop, realise and present new work over a period of one to three months, through performative or discursive formats. The residency also offers opportunities to connect and exchange with other artists in Freiburg.

For 2027, KABUFF is once again inviting proposals that approach artistic production beyond the making of objects and explore new ways of thinking about the studio as a site of production and exhibition. The open call is aimed at artists working across all forms of practice, including those with an expanded engagement with text, language, typography, theatre, scenography, music or film.

Duration: One to three months

Periods: February to April, May to July, or September to November

Location: Approx. 26 m² open studio in the Sculpture Hall at E-WERK Freiburg

Support: Accommodation and a fixed allowance for material costs
