Das KABUFF in der Bildhauerhalle des E-WERK Freiburg ist ein Gastatelier und experimenteller Ausstellungsort für erweiterte künstlerische Produktions- und Präsentationsformen im 1906 erbauten ehemaligen Elektrizitätswerk. Seit 2017 steht es jungen Kunstschaffenden aus Freiburg und eingeladenen Gästen für ein bis drei Monate als Arbeitsort zur Verfügung. Sie konzipieren und realisieren neue Arbeiten und stellen diese in performativen oder diskursiven Formaten einem Publikum vor.
Im KABUFF ist Raum für künstlerische Vorhaben, die Produktion über die Fertigung von Objekten hinaus denken und das Atelier selbst neu befragen. Willkommen sind Künstler:innen aller Praxisformen, auch mit erweitertem Bezug zu Text, Sprache, Typographie, Theater, Szenographie, Musik oder Film.
Als sozialer Aktionsraum fördert das KABUFF den Austausch unter Kunstschaffenden und mit der Öffentlichkeit und erprobt neue Modelle des Zusammenlebens und Schaffens.

KABUFF is a guest studio and experimental exhibition space for extended forms of artistic production and presentation, located in the sculpture hall of E-WERK Freiburg, a former electricity plant built in 1906. Since 2017, young artists from Freiburg and invited guests have been able to work here for one to three months. They develop and realize new works and present them to an audience in performative or discursive formats.
KABUFF offers space for artistic projects that think production beyond the making of objects and question the studio itself anew. Artists of all practices are welcome, including those with an extended relation to text, language, typography, theater, scenography, music, or film.
As a social space of action, KABUFF promotes exchange among artists and with the public, and explores new models of living and creating together.
